Biasanya kombinasi antara Windows dan Linux atau sering disebut Dual OS. Ketika menginstall linux maka loader dari windows akan ditimpa oleh grub loader nya linux di boot record. Nah langkah ini adalah digunakan untuk menghapus linux.
Langkah menghapus GRUB linux :
Untuk Win98 :
- Booting dengan menggunakan CD Win98
- Pada command Promt ketikkan fdisk /mbr ( C:fdisk /mbr )
- Restart komputer
- Booting dengan CD Installer Windows XP.
- Pada mode installasi pilih repair ( masuk ke command prompt )
- Pada C promt ketikkan fixmbr atau fixboot
- Restart Komputer.
Untuk VIsta dan Win7 :
- Booting dengan DVD installer Vista Atau 7
- Pilih bahasa, waktu dan keyboard lalu pilih Next
- Pada mode installasi pilih repair / repair your computer
- Setelah muncul menu untuk repair klik command prompt
- Ketikkan bootsect /nt60 SYS /mbr
- Restart komputer
