Identify the Hardware installed in your computer to find its driver

If you have a custom designed computer or its an old computer or you reinstalled the operating system not from system recovery ( or PC Restore), You might not be able to install the drivers for all the hardware installed on your computer.If you go to device manager it would be listed under other device as Unknown Device.

So after windows installation you could get into trouble if the device driver is not found or can not be installed automatically because that device would stop working.So here are the steps to get that issue fixed.

Option 1

Step 1. Open device manager by typing Devmgmt.msc at run.
Step 2. Right mouse click on the unknown device and select properties.
Step 3. On the device properties window click on the Details tab and select Hardware Ids.

Step 4. Here you only need to note down these two information highlighted in the rectangle shown in the above picture-18(a).So as shown in the picture above note down VEN( Vendor ID) -168C ( as shown in the above picture) and DEV ( Part/Device ID )- 0032 as per the above picture.

Step 5. Go to website http://www.pcidatabase.com/ and then under vendor search Type the Vendor ID as 168C or whatever it shows in your device properties windows for that unknown hardware, and then hit search.

Step 6. Now you will see the result on a different page with the name of the Vendor so Click on the Vendor name as shown in the picture -18(c) and then it will show you the list of all the device available from that vendor.

Step 7. so you will need to find the device with code mentioned in the Hardware Ids as DEV which is 0032 in my case.

Step 8. Now here it clearly shows you the name and model of the device we were looking for with the link to find the driver of this device under Notes so you can probably go to that vendors website to download the driver for that particular Device Model which is installed in your PC.


Option 2

Option two is the easiest and best way to identify the unknown device.There is this tool name Hardware Identify from Tweaking.com.you can download it from the download tab of my blog or click here.


Tweaking.com - Hardware Identify will help identify unknown hardware on your system. This program does not help you download drivers but helps let you know what the hardware is so you know what drivers to find.

For example say you just reinstalled a computer and the device manager shows multiple unknown hardware with no drivers installed. Well you dont know what drivers to find since you dont know what the hardware is. Now with Tweaking.com - Hardware Identify you can see what that hardware is.

The program also has a easy option to help improve the device database. Theres a good chance youve stumbled across this article after having lost your phone, so instead of telling you what you shouldve done before losing it, lets get right to it: you want to know what to do right now .
The good news is that you can quickly find your missing handset with Googles Android Device Manager, even if you dont have the app installed. Grab your computer (if you dont have your computer, see the next section), connect to the internet, open Chrome, and make sure youre logged in to your Google account (seriously, this part is crucial). Type "Where is my phone" in Chromes omnibox. This will do a search, and Google will automatically load a mini Android Device Manager window inside of the search results. During my testing, I found this little box to be pretty hit and miss in terms of accuracy, so for the sake of finding your phone quickly, go ahead and hit the first link: "Android Device Manager."
This will bring up the Device Manager site—you may or may not have to log into your Google account again here—and immediately start tracking your device. If you happen to have multiple phones and tablets, you can use the small drop down to find the one thats missing.
Once youve told the Device Manager to find your missing phone, itll start tracking and should find it within a few seconds. Itll provide the time it was located, the location, and the accuracy range. This will give you a damn good idea of where your phone is.
To make sure your personal data is safe and secure, you can use the "lock" button to quickly enable a lock screen password, even if you didnt have one enabled before. Once the password is set, you can also put a recovery message on the locks screen—something like "Thanks for finding my phone! Please call the number below." (Then put a number in the box below.)
This should, in theory, lock the device up behind the password you entered. The message will display in big letters at the top of the screen, with a large "Call Owner" button just below. If an honest person found your phone, hopefully theyll call you. If a thief snatched it, hopefully theyll know youre aware that the phone is missing and get freaked out. I wouldnt count on that, though.
After locking the device, you can also send a command to ring it, which can help you pinpoint its exact location if you just left it somewhere. It doesnt scream out—it just plays the set ringtone at full volume for five minutes. If youre tracing back your steps to a location where you left it, you should probably wait until youre close enough before executing this command.
Lastly, if all hope is lost, you can completely wipe the device with the "erase" command. This will completely factory reset the device, wiping all of your personal data, pictures, music, and all other stored files. It will also try to wipe the SD card if your device has one, but theres a possibility (depending on Android version and manufacturer) that it may not be able to, so keep that in mind. Once the phone has been wiped, Android Device Manager will no longer work, so this is basically you saying goodbye to your phone—this is the point of no return.

  So maybe you dont have your computer handy, or you dont want to go back home just to find your missing phone. Thats understandable, and theres another solution: the Android Device Manager app . If you have a second Android phone or tablet with you, grab that bad boy and give the app a quick install.
Once youve got it loaded up, youll need to input your Google password to start location devices. The app works exactly like the website, so all of the instructions and details above are applicable here. You can ring, lock, and erase your device directly from the app with all the same options that the web offers. Boom.

So what happens if you dont have another Android device or your computer? Thats when it may seem like all hope is lost, but fret not, theres still an option. Grab a friends phone or tablet—doesnt matter if its Android, iOS, Windows Phone, or whatever else (just as long as its a smartphone).
Open the web browser and do a search for Android Device Manager. Open the first link, and sign in. Boom, youre in.
The only snag you may run into is if you haveTwo-Factor Authentication enabled on your Google account, which will require you to input a six-digit code before getting access to your account. The problem is that this usually relies on either an app (like Google Authenticator) or a text message to get you this code, and if your phone is missing…well, you see where this is going.
Thats why its always a good idea to keep some backup codes handy. Google provides these when you set up two-factor authentication in the first place, so print them out and keep them somewhere safe—dont wait until its too late! These codes could mean the difference between getting your phone back (or at least keeping prying eyes away from your personal data) and never seeing it again.
Once youre logged in, the Device Manager will work the same way as discussed above. Do your thing. Good luck.
Like everything else, Android Device Manager isnt without its limitations. For example, if your phone is stolen and you dont have a protected lock screen (shame on you!) and the thief has already performed a factory reset, youre out of luck. The phone is no longer associated with your Google Account at that point, so Google has no way of tracking it. Bummer.
If the phone happens to die before you can track it, or the thief turns it off, all hope isnt totally lost—Android Device Manager will try to provide the last verified location. This will at least give you an idea of where you couldve lost it. You can also hope that whoever finds it will put it on charge for you—then youll be able to track it again. Or maybe theyll just call you. Thatd be neat too.
Finding out your phone is missing can be a gut-wrenching feeling, but Google has done an excellent job with Android Device Manager, as its a fully integrated option that takes the place of dozens of janky products that tried to achieve this goal before. So while it may not be any easier to realize that your handset is gone, at least you have solid hope of getting it back.

More VPN users are becoming aware that some websites are using a fairly new technology implemented in browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox, allowing websites to see the real IP and location of their users, regardless if the user is behind a VPN or proxy, essentially bypassing its protection.

This back door technique is called WebRTC and is supported in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera browsers.  Only Firefox has an official method to disable WebRTC for users who wish to keep their real IP private behind their VPN, by visiting in the Firefox URL bar "about:config" then change the "media.peerconnection.enabled" setting to "False" will turn off WebRTC in Firefox.  Chrome and Opera users are not so lucky, as there is no official method to disable WebRTC, they must rely on unofficial third party browser plugins which dont always work.

Some websites use the WebRTC back door to display content to their visitors only from specific geographic locations - different content for different locations. This may pose an inconvenience for users who travel often: visitors will have problems accessing content from their home location and instead only have access to content from the region they are currently traveling within, even when using a VPN to set their IP location or not.

How does this WebRTC back door really work? When a visitor opens a website with WebRTC code, it instructs the users web browser to make direct DNS calls to another server of the websites choosing.  These DNS calls bypass typical VPN connections.  Not just web browsers and websites can do this, any application running on your device can use the same technique to bypass your VPN or proxy.

The best solution to prevent your real IP leaking for both websites and apps is to change your device system DNS IP that works as a smart DNS proxy, such as Hide My IPs DNS Proxy service.  Free DNS IPs such as Google DNS or OpenDNS do not offer protection for WebRTC back doors or other methods that "leak" users real IP addresses.

Perhaps one day Google Chrome will officially allow users turn off WebRTC, but this remains to be seen.
